Canggu Nightlife (2026): The Best Bars and Clubs, Night by Night

Canggu Nightlife (2026): The Best Bars and Clubs, Night by Night

Updated 29 October 2026 | 11 min read | By Rissa Prima, Digital Marketing Manager, Cabo Bali

The short answer

Canggu nightlife is the best in Bali for a night out on foot, because the bars sit close together on two strips: Batu Bolong and Berawa. Our picks: Old Man's on a Wednesday, Desa Kitsune on a Tuesday or Friday, Miss Fish and The Mesa for a proper Berawa club night, Vault at the weekend, and Sand Bar as the last stop. Pick one strip per night, because the traffic between them is slow, and plan your ride home before you go.

Who this is not for. If you want quiet evenings and a sunset on the cliffs, Canggu after dark will feel loud. Uluwatu does fewer, planned nights out, and we cover it in our twin guide, Uluwatu nightlife, night by night. Looking for daytime pools and sunset sessions instead? That is our Canggu beach clubs guide.

Quick answer

  • Best Monday: Luigi's Hot Pizza, Metto with PNNY
  • Best Tuesday: Desa Kitsune, events from 7:30pm
  • Best Wednesday: Old Man's, beer pong then DJs
  • Best proper club: Vault in Berawa, Friday and Saturday
  • Best Berawa late night: Miss Fish and The Mesa, most nights from around 10pm
  • Best last stop: Sand Bar on Batu Bolong, after everywhere else winds down
  • Getting home: walk away from the beachfront before you book a ride, or book your return first

Where is the nightlife in Canggu?

Canggu is not one place at night, it is two strips and a quiet edge. Batu Bolong is the surf town end: beach bars, a brewery, and the late beach venue at the bottom of the road. Berawa is the club side: bigger rooms, restaurants that turn into dancefloors after 10pm, and the beach clubs. Pererenan, to the west, is calmer and better for dinner than for a big night.

The thing most visitors underestimate is the traffic. Batu Bolong and Berawa look close on the map, but around sunset and after big events the roads between them jam up. The pattern that works: choose a strip for the night and stay on it. Still deciding which area suits your whole trip? Read Uluwatu vs Canggu and Canggu vs Seminyak.

The best bars and clubs, one by one

Old Man's | the Wednesday institution

Old Man's sits at the beach end of Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong and has just marked its 13th anniversary. It is a big, open beer garden by day and the default Batu Bolong party on a Wednesday, when a beer pong competition gives way to DJs later in the night. Thursday is busy too, with things picking up from around 10pm alongside Mexicola across the road.

Who it suits: anyone who wants a loud, sociable surf town night with no ticket. It draws a young crowd, so if that is not you, go early and move on. The caveat: it is packed on Wednesdays, so meet your friends at a fixed spot.

Desa Kitsune | the Tuesday and Friday party

A restaurant and outdoor stage on Jalan Munduk Catu that runs some of Canggu's best DJ nights. Tuesday is its regular night, with events listed from 7:30pm, and Friday brings bigger international DJs, sometimes Saturday too. The party is mostly outdoors, with cover in the wet season.

Who it suits: people who want a proper line-up without heading into a dark club. Some nights are ticketed with a guest list option, so check the event listing before you go.

Miss Fish | the Berawa dinner that becomes a club

Miss Fish on Jalan Raya Semat is a Japanese restaurant first and one of Berawa's busiest late venues second. Most Wednesdays bring its International Series with big name DJs, Thursday is Yokai night, and Sunday is one of its biggest nights of the week. It is closed on Mondays.

Who it suits: a group that wants to eat well and stay out in the same place. Book a table for dinner and you are already inside when the music turns up. The caveat: it gets full on the big nights, so do not turn up at midnight hoping to walk in.

The Mesa | the multi-floor Berawa night

The Mesa on Jalan Pantai Berawa stacks a rooftop deck over a nightclub and lounge. Its weekly nights have included Afro and amapiano Fridays, Icon Saturdays with live music on the roof from 8pm before DJs downstairs from 10pm, and Sondela Sundays. Thursday is an Afro night, and it is one of the few Berawa spots that stays busy on a Monday.

Who it suits: people who like hip hop, R&B, Afro and chart music. The Icon Saturdays listing offered free guest list entry before midnight, so register ahead if you plan to go.

The Shady Pig | the Berawa late bar

Across the corner from The Mesa in Berawa, The Shady Pig opens from early evening but does not really get going until after 11pm. Sunday is a hip hop night, and it has a special Thursday night too.

Who it suits: the late crowd that wants a bar rather than a club. The caveat: it is a slow starter, so do not arrive at 9pm and judge it.

Luigi's Hot Pizza | the Monday party

Luigi's on Jalan Batu Mejan is a pizza joint that has owned Monday night in Canggu for years. Metto, led by the PNNY crew, runs on Mondays from around 8pm to midnight. The venue was refreshed in 2026 with a new garden and a street side pizzeria, Wednesday is a pasta and wine night, and Friday brings a DJ line-up.

Who it suits: anyone who wants a party that starts with dinner and ends at a sensible hour. For more places to eat before a night out, see our Canggu restaurants guide.

Vault | the proper dark club

An underground club in Berawa, below the shops on the main road, and Canggu's answer to a classic nightclub. Weekend nights lean urban and hip hop, and it is a safe bet late on a Friday or Saturday. Recent guides list it going until around 3am to 5am, and its ticketed events are 21+.

Who it suits: people who want to dance in a real club, not on a terrace. The caveat: it starts late, so plan a nap.

Sand Bar | the last stop on Batu Bolong

Sand Bar sits on the beach at the bottom of Batu Bolong and is open any night of the week. The crowd builds from around midnight, the music is commercial and hip hop, and recent guides say it runs until around 4am to 5am on busy nights.

Who it suits: the end of the night, not the start. The caveat: pickups on the Batu Bolong beachfront are hard late, so read the getting home section below before you go.

Black Sand Brewery | the Friday warm up

A craft brewery on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong with its own beers on tap and live bands and DJs through the week. Friday evenings bring an early happy hour on beers, which makes it a good first stop before Desa Kitsune or Old Man's.

Who it suits: groups and beer drinkers who want a relaxed start. Not a club, and that is the point.

FINNS Beach Club | the sunset that turns into a night

On Berawa Beach, FINNS opens at 11am every day and its sunset is a daily party. It is the easy warm up before a Berawa night at Miss Fish, The Mesa or Vault, all a short hop away. Nearby on the same road, Atlas Super Club runs ticketed events, so check what is on that week. We cover the daytime side, pools and day passes in our Canggu beach clubs guide.

Which night is big where?

These are the regular weekly nights that a 2026 listing or guide confirms. Line-ups and guest DJs change, so check each venue's Instagram for this week before you go.

How do you get home safely?

Getting home is easier in Canggu than on the Bukit, but it is not seamless. Grab and Gojek work across Canggu and drop offs are easy at any hour. Pickups are the problem: right on the Batu Bolong beachfront and at the main Berawa beach club entrances, drivers often avoid the spot because of congestion and local pickup restrictions. The fix is simple: walk a few minutes up the road before you book.

It gets harder late. Waits get longer and surge pricing kicks in after sunset around Batu Bolong, after big events in Berawa, and between midnight and 3am, especially in peak season and on public holidays. Our full breakdown of the two apps is in Grab vs Gojek in Bali.

  • Best option: book a driver for the return trip before you go out, especially if you are heading back to Pererenan or further.
  • Using the apps: walk away from the beachfront and the club entrances first, and do not leave it until 3am.
  • Stick to one strip: moving between Batu Bolong and Berawa late adds traffic and another ride to find.
  • Do not ride a scooter after drinking. Police run night patrols and spot checks in Canggu, including on weeknights, and travel insurers often refuse claims where the rider had been drinking or lacked the right licence. Our scooter rental guide covers the licence rules.
Cabo tip: Agree your ride home before you leave the villa, not at the club. Save the driver's WhatsApp, share a pin of the venue, and set a pickup time you can push later with a message. If you are staying with us, ask the team to line up a driver when you plan your night.

Key takeaways

  • Canggu is Bali's easiest night out: two walkable strips, Batu Bolong and Berawa. Pick one per night.
  • Monday is Luigi's, Tuesday is Desa Kitsune, Wednesday is Old Man's, Thursday is Miss Fish.
  • Friday and Saturday belong to Vault, The Mesa and the Berawa late bars.
  • Sand Bar is the last stop when everywhere else has wound down.
  • Walk away from the beachfront before booking a ride home, or book your return before you go out.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best night to go out in Canggu?

There is a big night somewhere almost every night. Monday is Metto at Luigi's Hot Pizza, Tuesday is Desa Kitsune, Wednesday is Old Man's and the Miss Fish International Series, Thursday is Yokai at Miss Fish, and Friday and Saturday mean Vault, The Mesa and the Berawa late bars. Sunday is a Miss Fish and Mesa night. Line-ups change, so check each venue's Instagram on the day.

Where is the nightlife in Canggu: Batu Bolong or Berawa?

Both, and they feel different. Batu Bolong is the beach bar and surf crowd strip, with Old Man's, Sand Bar, Black Sand Brewery and Desa Kitsune nearby. Berawa is the bigger club side, with Miss Fish, The Mesa, The Shady Pig, Vault and FINNS. Pererenan is quieter and better for dinner than for clubbing.

What time do bars and clubs close in Canggu?

It depends on the venue and the night. Sand Bar is the classic last stop on Batu Bolong and recent guides say it runs until around 4am to 5am on busy nights. Vault in Berawa is listed as going until around 3am to 5am. Many beach bars wind down earlier, so check the venue's Instagram before you plan a late one.

Can I get a Grab or Gojek home from Batu Bolong at night?

Usually, but not always outside the door. Drop offs are easy, while pickups right on the Batu Bolong beachfront and at the main Berawa beach club entrances can be hard, especially after sunset and between midnight and 3am. Walk a few minutes away from the beach before you book, expect surge pricing late, or arrange your return ride before you go out.

Is Canggu nightlife better than Uluwatu?

For going out, yes. Canggu has more bars and clubs close together and you can walk between a lot of them on Batu Bolong or in Berawa. Uluwatu has fewer venues spread across the Bukit, so you pick one place per night. Uluwatu wins on clifftop sunsets, Canggu wins on choice and late nights.

Where should I stay in Canggu for nightlife?

Stay within a short walk of Batu Bolong or Berawa if going out is the main point of the trip, because the evening traffic between the two strips is slow. If you want quiet nights with the option to go out, Pererenan works well: it is calmer, with Batu Bolong a short drive away.

Long story short

Canggu is where you go out in Bali. Do Luigi's on a Monday, Desa Kitsune on a Tuesday and Old Man's on a Wednesday. For a proper Berawa night, eat at Miss Fish or go up to The Mesa, then head down to Vault at the weekend. Sand Bar is your last stop on Batu Bolong. Pick one strip per night so you are not sitting in traffic, and sort your ride home before you leave.
