The short answer
For a big Canggu brunch, Milk & Madu in Berawa, Openhouse in Pererenan and Copenhagen's Nordic breakfast boards are the safe bets. For serious coffee, go to ST. ALi in Pererenan, Hungry Bird in Berawa or Miel on Batu Bolong. For something lighter, Kynd Community does the famous pink bowls near Echo Beach, ROU in Seseh is the matcha specialist, and Ettore Gelato in Pererenan is the after-lunch stop. Expect 30k to 45k for a coffee and 70k to 120k for a brunch plate, plus up to 21% tax and service.

How Canggu's café scene works
Canggu is not one place. It is a strip of villages running up the coast, and each has its own café rhythm. Batu Bolong and Echo Beach are the busiest, with the classic brunch institutions and queues by 9am. Berawa is the polished, family-friendly end, close to the beach clubs. Pererenan and Seseh are quieter, with a growing run of newer cafés. Pick the café by where you are staying: Canggu traffic is slow by car, and many of the shortcuts between villages are scooter-only.
Below we group the cafés by what you are in the mood for. We have left out places we could not confirm are still open in 2026. Betelnut and Cafe Organic have closed, and Crate has moved from its old Batu Bolong spot to Pererenan.
Big brunch
Milk & Madu | the Berawa all-rounder
Milk & Madu is the brunch spot that suits everyone, from families with small children to a group after a surf. The Madu (poached eggs, hollandaise and onion jam on sourdough) and the corn fritters are the classic orders, and the weekday Brekky Set (around 110k for breakfast, coffee and juice, before 10am) is one of the better-value deals in Canggu. Find it at Jl Pantai Berawa 52, with a second branch on Batu Bolong. Cabo guests get a benefit here. milkandmadu.com
Openhouse | the busy Pererenan and Seseh favourite
Openhouse is built for long, social mornings. The build-your-own breakfast plate and the breakfast burrito are the go-to orders, prices start around 45k, and it is one of the few big brunch spots that welcomes laptops. There are two sites: the original on Jl Munduk Tengah in Pererenan and a larger one in Seseh, which fills up from 10am. Open daily from 6am.
Copenhagen | Nordic breakfast boards and cinnamon rolls
Copenhagen does Scandinavian breakfast properly: build-your-own boards, open sandwiches and some of the best cinnamon rolls on the coast. There are cafés near Batu Bolong (Jl Padang Linjong) and in Berawa, plus bakeries in Padonan, Pererenan and Seseh. Note that both cafés have a no-laptop rule from 7am to 2pm, which is exactly why the morning atmosphere works. Brunch from about 75k. cphbali.com
Crate Cafe | the Canggu institution, now in Pererenan
Crate is the café most people picture when they think of Canggu brunch, and it is still going strong at its new home on Jl Sempol in Pererenan. Many older guides still give the old Batu Bolong address. Big, cheap and loud: the Benz Eggz and the Roll Over Omelette come in around 70k. Get there before 9am or expect a wait. lifescrate.com
Touché | soufflé pancakes in Pererenan
Touché is the small, pretty brunch spot on Jl Pantai Pererenan, known for soufflé pancakes and truffle scrambled eggs. Tables are limited, so it suits two people better than a group. From around 80k, open 7:30am.
The Shady Shack | the healthy vegetarian classic
The Shady Shack is Canggu's long-running vegetarian favourite, under the trees on Jl Tanah Barak near Batu Bolong. The smashed eggplant toast is the signature, breakfast starts around 42k, and it is a good choice when you want something fresh rather than heavy. theshadyshackbali.com
Specialty coffee
ST. ALi | Melbourne coffee in Pererenan
The Bali outpost of the Melbourne roaster sits on Jl Pantai Pererenan and is the pick for anyone who takes their flat white seriously. Espresso is around 30k, breakfast from 75k, and the St. Muffin is the order if you are hungry. Parking is tight, so come by scooter or on foot. Open daily 6am to 5pm. stali.com.au
Hungry Bird Coffee Roasters | roasting in Berawa
Hungry Bird roasts its own beans on Jl Raya Semat in Berawa and has been one of Canggu's coffee benchmarks for years. Order a ristretto or a cortado. Strong wifi makes it a good half-day work spot.
Miel Coffee | Balinese honey-processed beans
Miel works with honey-processed Balinese coffee, which gives a sweeter, rounder cup than most. It is on Jl Pantai Batu Bolong, espresso is around 32k, and it has a meeting room upstairs, so it doubles as a calm place to work.
Satu Satu Coffee Company | good coffee, fair prices
Satu Satu on Jl Pantai Berawa is the value pick: espresso around 25k, a very good iced latte, and an air-conditioned room with plugs that remote workers rate highly. Open from 7:30am.
The Goat Father | coffee and banana bread near Echo Beach
A small, friendly coffee stop on Jl Batu Mejan, known for banana bread, cinnamon rolls and its iced latte. Espresso around 28k, pastries from 25k, open daily 6am to 5pm. Ideal for a takeaway before a surf at Echo Beach.
BAKED. | pastries and sourdough
BAKED. is the bakery café with branches all over Canggu, in Berawa, Pererenan, Padonan and on Batu Bolong. The almond croissant and the Korean honey toast are the orders. The Pererenan branch is the quietest. baked.co.id
Healthy, matcha and something sweet
Kynd Community | the pink bowls near Echo Beach
Kynd is the photogenic one, famous for its pink smoothie bowls, Paradise Pancakes (115k) and strawberry matcha (75k). It is on Jl Nelayan near Echo Beach, walk-ins only, and not a laptop café. A latte is about 45k, and menu prices add 10% tax and 6% service.
ROU Specialty Coffee & Matcha | the matcha specialist in Seseh

ROU takes matcha as seriously as most places take espresso, with Uji-grown matcha and a choice of grade and milk, plus specialty coffee. It is on Jl Pantai Seseh, drinks start around 20k, and it opens at 6:30am (closing at 3pm from Thursday to Sunday). Cabo guests get a benefit here.
Ettore Gelato | the after-lunch stop in Pererenan

Proper Italian gelato on Jl Pantai Pererenan, open from 11am until midnight, which makes it as good after dinner as after lunch. There is a second shop in Umalas. Cabo guests get a benefit here. ettoregelato.com
