JAM PACKED 48 HOURS IN CANGGU

Couple Edition
Disclaimer: 2 days is never enough.
We live in Canggu. We manage villas here. And we’ve sent hundreds of couples through this exact two-day loop over the last few years.
This isn’t a “best of Google” list. These are places we eat at mid-week, train at before work, book our own friends into, and get repeat feedback about from guests staying with us. Canggu changes fast — this itinerary reflects what actually works right now.
The short answer
Two days in Canggu is enough to hit the essentials — a proper breakfast, beach time, a long lunch, a sunset drink and a great dinner each day — as long as you don’t try to do everything. This couple’s itinerary, built by people who live here and manage villas on this coast, runs Day 1 around Batu Bolong, Pererenan and a sunset at The Lawn, and Day 2 around training, recovery and a slower western-Canggu sunset. Budget roughly IDR 1.5M–3M per person for two days of food, drinks and a massage (excluding stays and transport), and base yourself a short scooter ride from the beach whose mood you want.
Quick answer
- Day 1: Crate Café breakfast → Batu Bolong / Pererenan beach → Milk & Madu lunch → couples massage → pool → sunset at The Lawn → dinner at Mason
- Day 2: morning training → Revolver coffee → recovery & pool → La Brisa sunset walk → local stores → dinner at Bottega, Luma or Skool Kitchen
- Budget: ~IDR 1.5M–3M per person for two days (food, drinks, one massage), excluding accommodation and transport
- Getting around: scooter is easiest; traffic peaks 4:30–7PM, so stay close to dinner
- Where to stay: Pererenan for calm and rice-paddy views; Batu Bolong or Berawa for walkable cafés and nightlife
DAY 1
Breakfast at Crate Café
Crate is chaotic in the best way. Long tables, loud music, big portions, fast service.
Order the Scrambled Eggs + Bacon or the Acai Bowl if you’re lighter in the morning. Coffee comes fast and strong. Go early if you want a seat without hovering.
Expect to spend: IDR 70K–120K per person

Beach Time
Canggu beaches are more about atmosphere than swimming.
- Batu Bolong Beach — easiest access, busiest vibe, good for people-watching.
- Echo Beach — darker sand, better sunsets, fewer kids.
- Pererenan Beach — calmer, more local, our favourite for couples who want space.
Swimming isn’t always ideal here — rip currents can be strong. Most guests come to walk, sit, and watch surfers. For a deeper look at every stretch of sand, see our guide to the best beaches in Canggu.

Lunch at Milk & Madu (Canggu)
This is one of the safest lunch bets in Canggu — and still a favourite.
Wood-fired pizzas, fresh salads, and fast turnaround. It’s social without being overwhelming. If you’re staying with us, ask about exclusive guest discounts.
Expect to spend: IDR 120K–180K per person

Wind Down: Couples Massage
Two solid options depending on how lazy you feel.
- Therapy Canggu — consistent, professional, and easy to book last-minute.
- Qila (your host) — in-villa massage. No traffic, no changing rooms, no rush. Book a day ahead.
This is one of the most rebooked experiences by our couples.

Pool Time
Head back to your villa. Phones down. Pool time up.
Canggu days can be overstimulating — this pause matters.
Sunset Drinks at The Lawn
This is the classic for a reason.
Feet in the sand, DJ building slowly, sun dropping directly in front of you. Order a margarita or gin spritz, grab a low table, and settle in. We usually arrive around 5:15PM.
Expect to spend: IDR 180K–300K per person

Dinner at Mason
If you want a proper date night, Mason is it.
Italian done seriously well. Order the wood-fired bread, fresh pasta, and share everything. It’s lively without being loud, and service is consistently good.
Expect to spend: IDR 280K–450K per person

Later
- Old Man’s — casual, busy, fun. Go early, leave early.
- The Shady Pig — speakeasy energy, good cocktails.
- Black Sand Brewery — if you want something more relaxed.
DAY 2
Morning: Training
Canggu is fitness-heavy — pick your lane.
- Body Factory — premium gym, recovery, everything under one roof.
- Nirvana Strength — serious lifting.
- Obsidian — high-intensity, no-nonsense.
- Pilates by Sari — couples sessions available, calmer pace.
Coffee at Revolver Espresso
Still one of the best coffees in Bali.
Tucked away, dim, cool, and a nice contrast to Canggu’s louder cafés. Order an espresso or flat white and a small bite — this isn’t a long-stay spot.
Expect to spend: IDR 60K–90K per person

Afternoon: Recovery & Pool
- Body Factory Recovery — ice bath, sauna, steam, compression boots.
- Or… back to the villa pool again. No shame in that.
Most couples tell us this is where the trip starts to feel like a holiday.

Late Afternoon: La Brisa → Finns Beach Walk
Start at La Brisa for a relaxed afternoon drink — rustic, spread out, less frantic earlier in the day.
Then walk along the beach as the sun drops. You don’t need another venue — just time.

Local Stores
Easy stops on the way back:
- Bali Buda — snacks, supplements, easy gifts.
- Love Anchor Market — handmade goods, souvenirs.
- Alchemy Store — superfoods and natural products.
- Deus Ex Machina — surf culture, coffee, merch.

Dinner
Three solid options depending on mood:
- Bottega Italiana — cosy, romantic, handmade pasta.
Expect: IDR 220K–350K pp - Luma — wood-fired, Mediterranean flavours, buzzing atmosphere.
Expect: IDR 300K–500K pp - Skool Kitchen — open fire cooking, beachfront, sunset energy.
Expect: IDR 350K–600K pp

- Many cafés close earlier than Google says — plan breakfast first.
- Book popular dinners 1–2 days ahead.
- Sunset is 6:00–6:30PM year-round.
- Scooters are easiest, but short walks beat traffic.
What to skip
- Overloaded café hopping — pick one, enjoy it.
- Peak-time Finns day passes — expensive and crowded.
- Swimming at red-flag beaches — not worth the risk.
- Trying to “do it all” — Canggu rewards slowing down.
Seasonal notes

- Shoulder season (Mar–May, Sep–Oct): The sweet spot. Warm, calmer, easier bookings.

Practical info
Scooters or walking are best. Book massages and dinners ahead. Cash still helps for markets and smaller cafés.

Frequently asked questions
How many days do you need in Canggu?
Two days is enough to enjoy the essentials — beach, surf, a couple of great meals and a sunset or two. But Canggu rewards a slower pace, so if you can, three to four days lets you spread it out and actually relax between the highlights.
How much does 48 hours in Canggu cost?
As a rough guide, budget around IDR 1.5M–3M per person for two days of meals, drinks and one massage, excluding accommodation and transport. You can spend less by eating at warungs or considerably more at the bigger beach clubs.
What’s the best area to stay in Canggu for a couple?
It depends on the mood you want. Pererenan offers calm, rice-paddy views and easy access back into town; Batu Bolong and Berawa put cafés, beach clubs and nightlife on your doorstep. Base yourself close to the beach whose vibe matches your trip.
Can you swim at Canggu’s beaches?

The dry season (roughly May to October) has the best weather and surf. The shoulder months — March to May and September to October — are the sweet spot: warm, calmer and easier for bookings.
How do you get around Canggu?
A scooter is easiest and lets you hop between beaches at your own pace; Grab and Gojek cars also work, though the narrow lanes can be slow. Traffic peaks from about 4:30 to 7PM, so it helps to stay close to wherever you’re having dinner.
